AC not cooling well

I have an 06 Jay Feather with the standard Coleman Mach roof air. It doesn't cool well. I have had other TT's with this same air unit and you could hang meat if you cranked it down. I have removed the roof cover and cleaned the core and made sure that the fan was running to full speed and unobstructed. I cleaned the inside filter and blew out the core and have good air flow inside. My dealer is telling me that no one can recharge this unit and I should just buy a new unit. The unit will cool after running for hours and will not keep up during the day. Any suggestions???

How much temperature differential are you looking for. Example, if it is 100 degrees outside and you are wanting it to be 68 in the TT it is just not going to happen. Comparing this unit to previous ones.....were the previous TT similar in size and construction? As well, same size Coleman unit? I am certainly no camper expert but just asking some common question to spark the discussion a bit more.

Yes, I understand that about temp differencial. Our last TT was a 27 ft with high ceilings and the AC was very good, we have a 29 ft now. The Ac will take about 4 hours to cool the TT down to 70 on a 85 degree day in the shade. The last TT would do that in 45 min to an hour. Another point that I need to make is that there is no cool air coming out of the vents (ducted), there should be cool air within a minute or so.

Jon, you said you have your new Jayco on order? We also ordered and upgraded to the 15k btu a/c. $$ well spent and we only have the 29'. If ya haven't upgraded, it may not be too late to do so :)

Recharging an a/c without fixing the freon leak will not last long. You first need to find out if the freon has leaked out and if so why it leaked. Once you fix the leak and there are no other leaks than you can recharge the a/c.

We got the 15K. 14 days and counting!!!!

Very good.....get a few in before the season is over...unless you are a snowbird
The dealer is getting us one at his cost $399, for a 15000btu less than an hour to install
