Okay, I am at a blank.

I have been trying to figure out how to increase the temp on the hot water. I have the electric switch and the propane switch in my master panel at the door. The propane got water fairly hot from what I saw.....but the electric is luke warm. So......IS the electric switch just another way to fire the propane Or is the electric- just that....electric hot water heater. I can not find any levers or switches in the exterior heater door area....none. My old HTT was clear cut in increasing temp.

The electric awning- the dealer did not leave a copy of the awning instructions (when the motor fails) but till I get one from the dealer- what is the secret to extend and/or recess the awning in case it happens this next weekend.

The electric slide- too lazy to figure it out in the manual confused to a point.....I know I need a 5/8 wrench in case and it mentions a 8 volt battery.....what is the fast explaination of over riding the electric slide out.

found a topic in the general RV talk about the hot water temp and a member posted a link to help but it did not work anymore. hopefully there is a clear cut thermo control somewhere?

I have a 2007 JayFlight 25RKS and it does not have a tempature setting for our Hot Water Heater. I know this does not help you, but the questions I have for you:
How long did you wait for the water heater heat up the water?
How long did you run the hot water in the faucet?

Our WH takes about 20 - 30 minutes before it gets the water warm. If we wait an hour and run the hot water in the faucet, it takes a few minutes to get the hot water through the lines. When it finally comes through, it is scolding hot. I always need to tell people to use very little hot water or be carefull when washing hands. The hot water is HOT. VERY HOT.

I had a similar issue with my water heater on our last outing. When on electric the water did not get very hot. But on propane there was not problem. After some head scratching I discovered that the breaker for the water heater had tripped during the initial electric heating cycle. It's hard to heat water with electricity when there is none flowing to the heating coil. You might have had a similar experience.

thanks for the replies! I did let the hot water heat for and hour or more in the electric mode- and let it run a considerable amount of time to ensure the hot water was getting out and it was not hot- so it looks like it is a inherit problem or design. I will check the breaker today but think that it might be ok. This time of the year I will have the propane going anyway with next weekends night temps in the low 40s. We use electric heaters when possible as it is "free" anyway but since the HTT is under warranty- might as well use all systems. I am thinking that maybe heating water with propane to begin and then switching to electric once it is hot might be an option when we are not using much. I can't believe these were designed without the control.

Thanks for the link topflight! Has anyone had to use the shortcut for either the awning or the slideout? Or are they made well and with conservative use- no problems?

MTKEG, We haven't had a failure as of yet on either. But now we also have the exact "short cut" info readily available for the awning just in case. Great link info Topflight! :)

When my converter failed (ie no 12V power & a dead battery) i just jumped the trailer Battery with my truck and wham-o I could close the awning. ps tx for the headsup on the lack of awning info with the trailer & the link

Our water heater gets the water very hot on electric. I would check with the dealer- there may be a problem with the heater control board. There is some kind of diode on the board that can blow.
There is also no problem running electric and gas at the same time to get hot water faster

I use the electric all of the time and only turn on the propane when I am going to use a good deal of hot water, i.e. taking showers or washing alot of dishes. Then I turn off the propane and just use the electric which seems to work for me. YMMV.
