Eagle HT Superlite 26.5RLS shower question

Hello everyone, we have a 2011 Eagle HT Superlite 26.5RLS. We have a question about the shower. We took the camper for it's maiden voyage last week and noticed that the water pump ran continually while the shower was running. We were hooked up to city water at the time but it seemed to pull off the fresh tank to feed the shower. Is this correct or did we do something wrong? We're going out again July 4th weekend so we really want to get it right and not be the camp idiots that we feel like right now for not knowing. Also when the water is hooked up to city does the pump need to be on all the time? Sorry, I know these seem to be basic questions but we just don't remember going over it during orieintation...thanks for any and all help.

I shut off the water pump when connected to city water. It shouldn't be neeeded. I would also recommend a pressure regulator to protect the trailer plumbing when connected to city water.

Thanks Sailor, good to know. We do have a pressure regulator already in place. We have the regulator on the city supply line before the water filter.

Put the pressure regulator on the campground spigot to protect your hose as well as the RV...

10/4. You have a water choice, and only use 1 of the options. City water, no water pump. There is no need to have water in the tank for that matter. If there is no water available, fill your tank and use the water pump for water. Also, do use a water regulator.

A lesson I learned.. always have water in your fresh water tank.. if the water supply goes out at the park you will have some still... when I am doing this I drain the tank every month and refill with fresh water..

On my rig the full water tank weighs approx, 700 lbs. That,s a little to heavy for me to haul around. I keep about 10 gallons in it for on the road use only.
