I mentioned this in early May and the shelves are finally in. I also made a shelf for the storage behind the stove.

Very Nice. I zoomed in on the 3rd picture and could not tell where this shelf is located. Don't you love how you can find stuff in your pantry, we love ours.

The third pic is where the tv goes in the bedroom. We never watched tv in the bedroom in our last trailer so we made it into storage. Only thing I would change on it is it should not be as deep. It is hard to reach over it to the back of the cabinet.

On the outside storage I have another shelf ready to fit on top of the one already installed. Next project will be sewer hose storage. I also have an electrician making a thirty amp power line that will plug into the side of the trailer. That 50 amp cord is really stiff when it is cold out.

Nice looking mod on the slide storage. That is on my short list. :drooling:

Did you reuse the existing shelves or build new ones?:lightbulb:

The existing shelves are under the sliding ones. They hold the cabinet together. We lost about an inch and a half of up and down space but the convenience is well worth it.

I didn't make the slide outs. The local band teacher made them and installed them for us. The outside one is a little rough but it is mine. :D

I LOVE your pantry shelves. Hard to reach things in the back of mine. Did you make them or purchase in a store?

See post #12. The materials came from Home Depot.

A carpenter/cabinet builder made them for me. He bought the hardware at either Lowes or Home Depot. The slides come is several different lengths.

clutch,

I have admired your slide out pantry solution for some time, and am going to use our winter down time to install such a system on my fiver. I've got some questions if you can stand them:

1) It looks like the sides of the slide outs are made of 1/4" plywood, and that the bottoms are made of 3/4" plywood?

2) Are the sides attached with screws and glue to the bottoms?

3) It looks like the sides are about 1 1/2" high (on the inside of the slide outs). Is this correct, and are you pleased with this height, or should the sides be lower or higher?

4) I think I see fasteners of some sort at the upper corners of the sides of the slide outs. Is there some sort of angle bracket there?

5) Are there any changes to your design that you would suggest?

1. No plywood on the sides, it is 3/8 in hardwood strips.

2. The bottoms are shelf material from the hardware store. Hard white finish that is easy to clean.

3. The height is perfect and I wouldn't change a thing.

4. The corners have brass corner brackets and brass screws.

Be sure and get the heavy duty slide brackets. Canned goods are heavy.

Not my design, the local band teacher is an excellent cabinet builder. You will really like having everything at your fingertips.

This is a nice modification, Already planning to do the same on our 330RLTS when delivered!! Can you post the outside dimensions width and length? I'm buying the same model, thought I could prebuild while waiting for the camper to arrive....

Well that depends what state they teach in. Here in Wisconsin teachers that have been on the job 10 years or more aveage $88k per year including bennies. but we have teachers making 120k per year on the high side.

My daughter and SIL built cabinets and added a large white board (the chalk board was ready to retire after almost 50 years) all on her own dime. She spends a good chunk of change out of her own pocket each year for some needed items that were free to the classes years ago when I began teaching.

Wow Rodo! I should have DS move to Wisconsin to teach. Teachers with the same experience in our neck of the woods do not make nearly what your teachers do. Wow! But she doesn't mind, she has a career but most important she has a job LOL

Clutch, those sliding shelves would like nice in her cabinets though :)

But they did lose all their collective bargaining rights.

I teach in PA and have been doing so for 11 years. I have yet to break $50k. With a masters I would still not break $70k even at the top of the ladder. I am not complaining though. For where I live I make a good living and have summers off to camp and spend time with my family. Problem is with the govenor we have a lot of teachers will be lucky to have a job at the end of his tenor.

OP- sorry to get off topic - I really like your drawer setup. I may have to "borrow" your idea.

In Wisconsin all public employees have lost collective bargaining rights. All public employees that have moved higher up on the pay schedule will most likely get downsized.

$80K and up may seem like a lot but just see what other professionals with a masters degree and up make.
