First to build this flag pole you need a materials list. All of the items below can be found at your local home center or hardware store. Total cost under $20
1 10 foot long piece of 3/4″ pvc pipe
1 45 degree 3/4″ pvc fitting
1 3/4″ pvc T fitting
2 3/4″ pvc end caps
2- 2 ½x1/8 carriage bolts stainless (dont rust)
2-1/8 Nuts stainless and 2 flat washers for flag end of bolt
1-3x5 US Flag (Make sure flag has grommet holes for carriage bolts to attach to pole)
1 2 foot long piece of concrete rebar (or any metal stake that fits inside your pvc pipe)
1-25MM socket from your tool box or just buy one a cheep one is under $5
Now that we have the material we can get to work. Take the ten foot long piece of pvc pipe and cut it into two four foot long piece and two two foot long pieces. The cuts in pvc can be made using a simple hack saw or you can use a powered miter saw with the appropriate blade. Drill holes for bolts, drill so the flag will be taught not bowing in the middle.
Now assemble as shown in the pdf picture but pull flag taught so it don't sag as in the picture. DO NOT GLUE together (easy to take apart for transport)
To get flag to rotate you pound the 2 foot rebar 10 inches into the ground then slip 25MM socket over, then place flag pole into the bottom. You have just made a rotating flag pole. Enjoy
