I thought I'd take advantage of the cavernous expanse of unutilized space above the 23B's radio. The door is a rail & stile one that I made in my shop this winter and attempted to match the stain as closely as the surrounding cabinetry. Hardware came from the neighborhood RV Surplus store and I'm planning on replacing all the knobs with the white ceramic ones.

I have a theory about all the space that is "hidden" and otherwise unusable in our TT's. Jayco does this on purpose to give us things to do with our spare time. What kid doesn't like an Easter egg hunt? :grad:

Mcfarm, you do nice work!

Nice work ....thought about doing something like that above my microwave - but maybe a "hidden compartment"

Thanks for sharing your great work. How did you knock the original panel out? Was it easily done by removing the radio or did you need to cut it out??

Thanks.

Thank you for the complements! The panel is stapled on from the back side so I carefully started working it off from the front by using a stiff blade putty knife to begin prying it away from the face frame. You could pop out the radio first to give yourself another point of entry and protect the radio from debris falling into any ventilation slots.
