Here's a couple of photos of another recent mod I did. Basically, I replaced the standard Jayco shower head with an Oxygenics since I had heard they really increase the water pressure while conserving water in the process. My first time out, I loved the increased pressure of the shower but I missed the shut-off I had on the old shower head so I added this unobtrusive shut-off valve I picked up at Home Depot for under $5. The whole job took only about 10 mins and the cost was under $35 total.

Can I come over and try that out? The Jayco shower head we have doesn't have much pressure.

I bought the same one from Camping world.. good thing I did.. the Jayco one just points straight ahead and shoots the wall.. the oxygenics actually works like a shower.

We almost ordered one from camping world for that price but they were going to charge a nother30.00 for shipping etc to us in Canada so w I'll wait till we are driving near a CW someday.

One of the reasons I buy from Camping World is since they've merged with Good Sam (and I am a GS member), I get free shipping on everything. You can find the Oxygenics shower heads on Amazon and eBay too.

Pharoe.. I think you are a Manitoba member..
I order all the time from Camping world and other American suppliers.
I have my order sent to "Mikes Parcel Pick Up" in Pembina North Dakota.
He will receive any package for you for $5.00.. its a one hour drive, so I wait until I have a few items.. but it has saved me lots of money on USA shipping.

I also did this Mod last year on both inside and outside shower heads. They do use less H2O. With my new expansion tank with the pump off the head ran for a good 2 mins before the pressure finally gave up.

Thanks Lady W. yes I have heard of that working. Will give it some serious thought. Thanks for the reminder

I need to look into that expansion tank mod too...

Mike,
Is the shutoff valve just a piece that screws in between the water supply and shower head?
I have the shower head, but need to pick up the shut-off valve at HD.

I have found them several times at HD. Made by Danco. I ended up installing them at home also.

It really makes taking a Navy shower so much easier. Wet, soap, rinse. Hit the shutoff between steps and you will see how much water you conserve... but more importantly, how much you aren't wasting down the drain filling your grey tank.

Well, the shower head that is in there now has a cutoff, but the pressure coming out is horrible. With all the talk of the Oxygenics, I had to try it. It can't be any worse.
This next weekend will be a good test. There will be 4 of us camping for 3 1/2 days running off of the fresh water supply. Any conservation will be good. :D

I have to haul all of my water in to my campsite. Maybe I should look into on of the shower heads.

Something else I have a habit of doing (I read this tip on RV.net) is when we wash dishes, we do so in a dishpan. After we're done, we pour that soapy water down the toilet. It seems to keep the black water tank cleaner (fewer level sensor issues) and again saves on the gray water filling too fast.

We wash most of our dishes outside, like we did in out tent days. Except, I use the outside shower and use hot water. That way, we keep from filling our grey tank and puts less grease in it as well.

I've done that too.

Outside shower is also the best way I've found to clean fish. No mess/stink in the trailer!

I hate to be a wet blanket but we purchased the Oxygenics head on our last rig and never liked it. Our major complaint was the water was like a mist and hard to get a good rinse.
I guess there is always someone that has to be different.
Also, I did not vote for Obama. LOL

Just finished sanitizing the fresh water, so I decided to put on the Oxygenics head. Using just the onboard water the spray from the Oxygenics seems to be about 2x better (harder) than the factory unit. While I didn't take a shower, it did seem to be more than a mist, but I can see where norty is coming from on this. Looking forward to next weekend when it gets a workout!

I just installed the chrome one on our shower. I think it uses I.7 gal/min. I definitely need to install a shut off switch. Mine came with a fitting that adjusts the spray which I haven't installed yet. I haven't seen anyone talk about this yet so I don't know if it is new or not.
The shower worked well.

The white one that I just got has that spray adjuster too. I have read that a lot of people don't like that because it takes 2 hands to operate. The on/off switch seems like a far better deal.

I installed the chrome one a couple of months ago - love it - much better than the stock one.
Bought an inline shut off from Naughtons.
Definately not a "mist" coming out.

I have to agree. We used ours for the first time this past weekend and love it. I think its a big improvement over the stock shower head. The biggest plus was that the 3 ladies in the family liked it. If they aint happy, aint nobody happy, lol...

Will the wall mount in your Jayco work or do you have to install the Oxygenics mount?

I used the Jayco wall mount, not the best fit, but the Oxygenics mount is not a wall mount.

There is a separate Oxygenics mount you can buy. The one I got is adjustable.

I've now had the chance to use the Oxygenics shower head with shut-off for almost 3 weeks solid and I really like it. It delivers plenty of spray power IMHO. BTW, I used the standard Jayco mount and it works fine in our tub/shower.

Same results here. Shower pressure and flow is fine, and we used much less water than with the stock shower head. I do have an inline shut off valve and that helps alot.

Well, to all of you who have replaced your old shower head with this one, will you mail me your old one? The first warranty issue I brought up to my dealer was that my outside shower had no pressure. He looked at it and said that it was the way it was, and wasn't gonna get any better. I took the shower head off my inside shower and installed it on the outside shower. Instant pressure. I went back to the dealer with the intention of purchasing a second shower head like the one installed inside. I was informed that they were no longer available. So, if anyone isn't gonna use yours, send it my way.

Funny, I did the same thing on the outside shower. Using the old inside head really boosts the outside shower pressure.
