Call me crazy... we are moving to SD, time for Winter Camping
Well, its not exactly all my idea; Uncle Sam has elected to move us to the Rapid City, SD area in September, probably for at least 3 years. We went up there last week to scout some sites and found an amazing plot. Made a new friend who has 15 acres in the Black Hills, between Mt Rushmore and Sturgis - beautiful land! We are making some mods to his RV pad to include a heat taped, insulated, pvc covered fresh water line and a steep drop, smooth pvc discharge sewer line for gray/black.
The pic is from the winter blast in Texas, guess that was a clue to the future...
Even with that and originally being from Iowa, we are assuming a steep learning curve. We will be in our 2015 Jayco Pinnacle FLSA and open to any suggestions or public harrassment LOL! We are excited about our new adventure but clearly understand this will present new challenges.

Get lost on route, it gets really cold, and snowy.
In reality I really enjoy that area.

CRAZY, but that not your fault! It should be an experience that I would like to hear about but not experience!

Good luck with the move. We were just there this summer, it is beautiful country. Are you being moved to Ellsworth? We stopped at the EX a couple times and it seems to be a real nice facility.
One thing I would suggest you do is also wrap the sewer line and insulate it. If you hadn't already planned it also buy some sheets of 2" foam house insulation and skirt the FW.

I envy you. I lived in Rapid City in the early 70s. Was there during the great flood. It has changed a lot since then with much growth but the Black Hills are much the same. Winters are cold but you get use to it as it is a dryer cold. If you get the chance, hike the 7mi trail to Harney Peak. Enjoy the snow!

Echoing what Grumpy said. Skirt your rig with the compressed foam sheets (TYVEK is good stuff). Wrap your sewer line with heat trace as well. Also consider contacting your local propane company and renting a large upright tank.
Many moons ago when I lived in my old 5er, I did this, maintaining my onboard tanks as emergency back ups. However, the big upright tank I rented, lasted me through the entire winter. I also, made plastic panels for my windows to provide an extra layer of insulation on them.

I would try to park the rv over the water/sewer if possible and skirt it leave a trap door for access to water and valves. I stayed in ND last winter and had no problems like this. Also run your frige on gas when it gets below zero and partially block your exterior refrigerator panel or it will freeze up.
