Gas grill suggestions?

Hello all,

I'm slowly getting ready to go full-time in my RV (full-timing starts June 1). I plan on cooking most of my meals outside. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions of a good portable gas grill? I'd want the ability to fry stuff up like bacon and eggs too.

Here is a great combo. 2 Burner Coleman stove and Weber grill. The Weber is amazing. We also use a Coleman griddle that works on either unit. We have a "t" on a 20 pound tank that feeds both units. The little green 1 pound propane tanks are not environmentally friendly and really should be banned. Anyway, we don't cook inside our trailer and these units are more than adequate.

benjamin-- We luv the RVQII grill, it has both the ripple and flat surface, great for bacon & eggs. I did mod it with a " hook & eye " latch to keep it closed. Must be mounted level for the grease to run off to the catch can. Larry

One thing my father had done to our family motor home growing up, was to have a pro install an auxilary hook up to the RV propane tanks. He also had them make a 10 or 20' hose to connect the BBQ to the tanks. The long hose allowed the BBQ to be placed almost anywhere around the RV (depending on wind/weather conditions) and you no longer had to carry extra tanks around.

I know Jayco puts the LP quick connects on many of the G2 models but my 28BHS doesnt have it. I am going to get a local gas fitter to build me a similar set up as what the old man used to have on his, as we would like to bring the BBQ without lugging extra tanks around.

The other thing we have and use is an electric stovetop burner for outside boiling and frying. This is nice when you are at a site that includes electricity in the fee... why waste your precious gas when you can use free energy. (we do the same with electric heat)

Just a thought.

Is that Weber grill electric? if so, are you pleased with the results?

My new Jay Flight 19RD has the exterior gas line and I bought the Jayco grill that mounts to the side of the TT. If I recall the Grill was $150. I thnk the gas hose was extra. Any good gas grill will come close to that price. Winter here in Wyoming so haven't used it yet. Looking forward to spring.

I have a Coleman Roadtrip LXE gas grill. Now that I've had it a few seasons I wish I would have read more reviews about it. With the Teflon griddle on it you can't close the lid.There isno easy way to level it. I carry a pack of shims with me It is very I mean very hard to clean. The plastic wheels are bowing out at the axles. As far as putting it back in the travel bag, We won't even go into that.

If you look around the forums, you'll see that at one point I recommended the Weber portable (and it's a great little grill, no doubt) but since then, I have upgraded to a Cuisinart CGG-200 (around $130) and it's a super little grill. In fact, I love it so much, I keep at home when we're not using the RV and most of the time, I cook on it vs. my larger Weber Genesis S-320.

I have the RVQ 2000 and it works well. I also have a Weber Q300 which works much better but is too large to carry. If I had a choice, I would get the Weber Q200 and plumb a line in like the RVQ if you dont already have one.
