Ownership campgrounds in Florida...

Hi all,

We're considering buying a site in a Florida Campground/resort. We know NOTHING about it at this point.

I presume that there are such places where you can actually own a site, and have it rented out when your not using it.

Does anybody have any experience with that kind of thing?

Any comments and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Sitting on one right now, 8 miles from WDW, we love it, but do not plan on renting it out. What area are you looking at?

Well Hi Grump....

Anywhere from the Disney area and Ocala, across to the space coast, and the Flagler Beach area.

Lordy, there are so many different kinds... Condo, deeded lots, shares of the total campground, etc. whew!

Thanks!

We have a deeded lot, very similar to a condo. We have a HOA fee that covers water, sewer, basic cable, internet ( not the fastest) pool, grass cutting etc. We're at Elite Resorts Citrus Valley. Not too far South is Deer Creek and there is also Mt Olive Shores.

At our place you can put your lot into the rental pool or rent it out yourself.

We own a site at Nature Coast Landings RV Resort north of Crystal River on the Gulf side of the state. Check out their website and you will see listings for both sales and rentals. It is a nice friendly park away from the hustle and bustle, which is what we like, but yet not too far from Ocala or Gainsville & Tampa is about 80 miles south. My suggestion would be to rent a site in a park first to see if you like it there and then make your decision whether to buy or not. We don't rent our site out when we aren't there but many others do. Just our choice not to at this time. Our HOA fee covers water, sewer, lawn maint.,use of pool and buildings/facilities etc.

Thanks Fingerlakes...

What are the monthly fees associated with owning there? It looks like a really nice place...

The monthly fee is $116.00/month. It is a gated community so if you want to go in to check it out you will need to call the office M-F during business hours to get in. The gal in the office is Jenny, she is very nice and helpful and can answer most any question you may have. There are listings in the office of sites for rent/sale and you can drive thru the park to look around. It is a VERY friendly park and there are a multitude of activities to keep you as busy as you want to be (or not). Also, there is a canal within 1000 ft. of the park that takes you to the Gulf of Mexico and a bike trail along side of the canal too. If you have any more?'s feel free to contact me.
