Good to hear you are safe Ed. Lived through a Typhoon once, no shelter. Wind moving that fast is unreal.

Keep the shiny side up on that 5'ver.

We did the same thing here last year when Hurricane Irene came through. Knocked out power for over a week. Didnt slow us down one bit... We had the patio lit up everynight watching HDTV using the OTA bat wing antenna. Had folks coming around everynight. We also went around the local neighborhood and keep the elderly folks fridge running a couple of hours a day with the portable Honda generator in a little red wagon....

Everyone else was running around with flashlights and you could the flicker of candles in every house haha... Not us....

My only problem was I didnt have alot of gasoline at home and had to go looking for a gas station about the third day that was being run off a generator. I was about ready to get out my Oklahoma credit card and suck some gas out of the truck but finally got some gas in my jeri-can..

My battery beef-up worked out great here in Camp BackYard. I ran two extension cords into the house from the trailer for a few 120VAC things and then re-charged the batteries the next morning for a 2-3 hour generator run just like I do at camp sites... I would run the fridge here a couple hours a day as well. Didnt have to throw anything out...

Always neat to have a PLAN-B. Camping supplies has always been around this house just for these reasons.

When the power finally came back on all you heard from our bunch was ahhhhh....

Now there is three or four brand new Honda generators in the neighborhood...
