Any Connecticut Jayco Owners out there - if so where do you take your camper in CT

Any fellow CT campers out there?
I was wondering what campgrounds in CT you go to.
Strawberry Park, Hidden Acres. Odetah, Witches Meadow, Mystic KOA, Chamberlain Lake,
Stateline, Waters Edge, etc?

From pup tents with no floors, to tents with floors and flies, to a pop up, to the expandable.

I haven't been to any CG's in CT, but depending on where you are there's some decent places in surrounding areas. I am becoming more and more fond of Copake KOA in Copake, NY (but VERY close to the CT / MA border). While the surrounding area isn't much, the GC is quiet and well run / maintained. Yogi Bear in Gardiner NY (about 1 hour from Danbury) is nice too.

Strawberry park looks very nice and I have wanted to give that one a shot. Normandy Farms in MA is supposed to be very nice if you are looking for an upper end RV park.

Thanks for the CG suggestions. We've been to Normandy farms and really didn't like it. You are packed in like Sardines, and they have rules upon rules, upon rules. I saw awnings from one camper only inches away from the side of another camper. I'll check out those other places. If you are looking at places in CT, let me know, I have been to many of them and I can tell you how it was.

We are not from CT, but have spent the summer in MA so can give you a few suggestions that are not far away.

Bayview Campground on Cape Cod is really nice. There are many seasonal sites there so we found it quieter than many places we have stayed at. People were very friendly and there was plenty to do at the camp if you wanted to. They have 3 swimming pools, several playgrounds, ball courts. We spent almost two months there. While they do have popup and tent sites, most are full hook ups and most of the people had larger trailers, 5W's or motor homes.

We found the Boston / Cape Cod campground in Middleboro MA to be also quite nice. It is mostly filled with short term campers and not so large as Bay View. There is plenty for kids to do with several playgrounds, free mini golf and a pool. Lots of smaller pop ups and tent campers here as about half the sites are water/electric only.

We are from MA and have camped at Mystic KOA, Stateline, and Aces High. They were all nice and we would return. We have also visited Brialee and Sterling KOA. Brialee was very crowded for our taste so probably would not go there to camp except maybe in the off season and the staff we met were very nice. The Sterling KOA was terrible and we reported the campground to KOA. They have since lost their KOA status and have been taken off their web site.

I felt the same way about Brialee. Too many people. I've never been to Sterling. I have been to the others except Aces High, which is on our list for next season.

We live in Sterling. I always wondered how KOA ever got involved with the campground. It was always a mess and not at all what anyone would expect from a KOA.
When we camp we don’t need hookups. If a campground has them great but we are just as happy without them. We have been to Hidden Acres a few times. Not all sites are full hookups. It’s ok but they have dog specific rules because of insurance. Our trip there this year with friends will be our last time. Can get pretty packed in there.
We have done Hopeville pond state park. It’s ok but not all sites have hookups and no dogs allowed. It is more spacious though and there are some nice views of the pond.
Next year we are trying Odetah with some friends. Looks nice, a bit pricey and we will see how the sites are.
Many times I would rather head to southern VT to camp at their state parks. Most of the campgrounds have very nice sites that are not packed in. No hookups at their campgrounds but clean showers and they are continuing to update the bathrooms. Sometimes finding a site for a larger camper. Is tough. We are 33’ from hitch to bumper.
Another nice campground is Fishermans Memorial in RI. it’s a state park and we pay more as a nonresident but it’s close to the ocean and most sites are decent size. Many of their sites are full hookup.
The RI and CT parks have are no alcohol but as long as you use a cup and don’t get rowdy they don’t bother you. Good luck in your travels.

Hello from Voluntown, Ct. We can't help you with any KOAs but Fishermans Memorial is nice but pricey for non Rhode Islanders. The only Ct campgrounds we have used were Hopeville, Rocky Neck, and Thompson Resevoir.

The wife and I love Grandview camping and resort in Moody's. Geared towards adults, and no seasonals.

Hammonnasset Beach State Park.. Electric 30 amp no sewer no water at each campsite. 2 mile long beach saltwater fishing bike trails
Seafood joints all around. Not a bad drive to Mystic (40 min) or the casinos.

Never camped there but lived nearby for 17 years and daughter has home just outside park for last 20.
Really good nature center and the Town of Madison has a lot of hiking trails.
