Anyone else like municipal parks?

Howdy all, I was just wondering if any of you enjoy camping in municipal parks? We have some very nice ones in my area, and I have found them to be inexpensive ($12 per night), convenient, and very nice (trees, scenery, river views). This one rivals some of the state park recreation areas I have visited. It is located in Neligh, Nebraska, and makes for a short trip for me.

Anywhere the crowds aren't, we try to be! Our first experience in a Municipal type campground was on our maiden voyage early this year - Glenn Rouge in Toronto. Was a beautifully maintained camp and wonderfully close to everything. I've also been told the city of Ottawa campground is fantastic as well, but even if it's just down the road, we've never been...

LOL... I just remembered - did a trip to Vegas a long time ago and stayed in the city camground. We were the only goofballs in a tent, surrounded by bazillion-dollar rigs. Talk about feeling "out of place"!

We have a beautiful one here in Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada. I have been through it several times but cannot justify paying to camp a few blocks from home.

Howdy Seann, I know what you mean. Here in my hometown of Norfolk, NE we have a beautiful city park, complete with small lake, swans and birds, and a tree-shaded campground. Only $9 per night with electricity. Cheap as that is, it is just hard to justify spending that less than 2 miles from my home.
