Anything for kids near Luray, VA

We'll be camping for week at Jellystone in Luray, VA in June. Jellystone has a lot to offer for our two little ones. We like to take them out of the CGs to explore the nearby areas. We will be visiting the Luray Caverns and taking a drive along Skyline Dr. If anyone knows of other nearby attractions I'd appreciate it. Keep in mind the little ones are both boys, 4 and 7. Thanks!

We stayed at that Jellystone last year and had a great time. We did the caverns and there are two museums next door. There was also some kid of garden tour if I remember but we didn't do that. If your boys like cars they may like the car and carriage museum. The other museum had a collection of historical items and such.

There is a ZOO south on I81 that is great to visit as well... Lots of live animals in there including Tigers... I don't know the schedule they have but they had baby tigers cats and brougth them out for the kids to pet. That was neat....

Picnicing up on SKYLINE drive at BIG MEADOWS is also something neat to do. All of the deer wildlife comes out at dusk and great for picture times...

These might be out a range for you but would be worth the drive since you are so close... Check the maps...

Anything for kids near Luray, VA

We're just down the road in Harrisonburg, so I could give you pages of stuff to do... In Luray proper there is a rescue zoo that isn't all that impressive compared to what you'd find in a big city, but my kids have always loved it. They are probably too young for history things? Plenty of hiking around, including some nice easy traIls for little ones. If weather turns bad there is a nice children's museum down here... what kinds of activities does your family enjoy?

I'm interested as well. I'm near Roanoke and we head to the Winston Salem children's museum quite often. Didn't know there was one up your way. We're looking for a quick get away this weekend.
