Duckett Mill Campground on Lake Lanier (pictures)

Couldn't be better... We're right on the beach and have the lake on both sides.

Not bad to be 10 minutes from home too!

Nice and close to home. Thanks because I wasn't aware of the site. Looks like you can reserve specific sites and not first come first serve as well.

Correct. You can only reserve 30 days in advance. If you do that, you can pick which ever site you want too

We were there in May and stayed 4 days it is a great campground we loved it!

If we are ever back in that area we will definitely go back and stay longer!

One of the best COE campgrounds we have ever been to.

I agree this is the best campground on Lake Lanier. It has a nice beach too.

However, I NEVER camp there. It's only about 100 yards from my lake home. That's just too close to home [emoji41]

Wow, 30 days!

Wish some of our parks would be that short. Standard for our Provincial Parks is 150 days. Getting online at 7:00 am in February or March to make sure you get a good site booked for July or August just seems wrong somehow...

Great looking site there!

Haven't tried Ducket Mill yet but the comments sound great. Shady Grove is so close we frequent it a lot. Five mile may not be fer from home but obviously the difference between the old homestead and being at a lake campground is still "going camping" for us. We checked Sawnee in February simply because it one of the three Lanier campgrounds open all year and honestly was not that impressed.

Ment tell PFflyer that that's 30 days before your first day of occupancy or in other word if you want Labor Day weekend like we did last year we reserved 30 days before the Friday of the weekend before Labor Day weekend through to labor dye and went to work from there the week between. So we got two weekends, plus Labor Day and went home to the camper at the lake five nights, all in all it was a nice ten days.

Yeah we set up here a few days ago, and I just went to work from the camper.
I like Shadygrove also, but it was all booked up. I got this site 5 days in advance and there were still plenty left.

The only complaint I have here is the gravel...
It is a very very very fine gravel mixed with dirt just off the steps and it gets EVERYWHERE! Especially having 2 dogs

I know it's an old thread, but wow, sounds like their are several of us here that live close to lake Lanier. We really like certain sites over at Bolding Mill ourselves, we work in Gainesville and live over in the east Hall/Gillsville area, haven't looked at this one. Wish all the COE camp grounds were open year round. I really like the 30 day thing too, the others are 6 months I think
