Florida first couple weeks of April.

I am planning on taking the family camping around Florida during the first two weeks of April. I have reserved several days at Fort De Soto Campground in Penellas County to ensure we can spend at least a few days on the ocean, but I want to have a large portion of the time to be without a specific place to be so we can wander about... Does anyone have any experience during the first weeks of April around Florida? Specifically, will I have a difficult time finding available camping sites on a walk up basis? I have a 31 foot class C Greyhawk.

Could be a crap shoot. The first of April is when the snow birds head back north. I would suggest that you call some campgrounds in the areas that you want to visit and get their input.

Good idea. I have checked the state park reservation system on line and there are many open sites if you get a bit inland... but it is still early I know...
