You gotta love the high country of GA for camp sites - some of the best ones around... One of my favorites is CLOUDLAND CANYON up on the Lookout Mtn just off I59 at Trenton GA. It too has a couple of winding roads going up on top. 30 miles down the road in ALA is DESOTO State park up on the same Lookout Mtn. It too is a great camp ground with lots of views of canyons... Those places and the big trailers like you have just don't mix good I guess...
I too use GOOGLE MAPS to check out the camp sites - You get a great birdeyes view of the camp grounds and the roads leading to them...
Most of all the high country Natl parks and Natl Forest roads around here in VA seem to have posted signs about restricting RV trailers at 24-foot long. Too many winding curves along the forest service roads for the big long trailers.
One of my favorite locations here is on the VA/WVA mountain ridge state line in the George Washington Natl Forest near a place called FLAGPOLE KNOB. I actually have to pull my off-road popup across a small mountain rock bed stream to get to the spot which is just off a forest service road. Great views, small mountain stream close by, and lots of peace and quiet everywhere. Don't get no better than this...
