We just booked for end of Sep/ beg of Oct 18. 6 nights on site.
We requested loop 600 as it seemed pretty centrally located and we want to be able to walk to most stuff including boats to MK

Headed back at the end of February 2019 for 8 nights. Been on Disney vacations 39 times but will only be our 2nd camping stay Then maybe 4-5 days over toward the Gulf coast. Maybe the really bad cold overcast weather in E. TN will be gone....nah. But at least we will warm up for a couple weeks.

When I leave the Keys I'm going to up the the Fort to visit my niece that works there. I have a premium site booked already but now I want to go in a day earlier than planned. The only site open is a preferred site 10x45. With 15ft rear overhang I can back it over the tent spot and fit lengthwise but is it wide enough for the four slides to open on the 377 (43ft)

I'm not sure if all of the preferred sites are created equal. But when we were there in August, we had a preferred site in the 500 loop that was absolutely huge. There would have been no issue with your rig in it.

There's an app for that! Look for 'Fort Wilderness Sites' on Android don't know if the name is the same for Apple. It's created by the Fort Fiends (yup, fiends). It has the sizes for all the sites and photos for most of them.

Have her stop by the front desk and see if some extra "Pixie Dust" is floating around. WDW reservations do not work well when trying to locate a site for one day... Much better if she talks directly to the site assignment people.

Thanks for the help. Found that app and it looks like I will have enough room.

Like Grumpy said, talk to them when you get there. Quite often they can do things face-to-face that couldn't be arranged online... Pixie Dust? Maybe.

We visited this June and I’ve been missing it since. This just makes it worse.
Tell the Mouse I said “hey” and will be back as soon as I can. I know he misses me too.

I can't wait to go back. We did 10 days there in August and it wasn't nearly enough time.

Fort Wilderness is our annual trip in March since we got the RV 2 years ago.

I must say though, I'm very good at backing up... but the only 2 times I've ever really struggled were both at the Fort.

My RV is 38'. See if this 3rd time is the charm.

I struggle a bit everytime at the fort backing up. 2019 will be my 4th time and this one will be at Christmas time when the fort should be jammed packed with people and decorations all over. Have anxiety already about it, my trailer is not much bigger than your at 43'.

First mark on my new truck was from backing in to my Ft. Wilderness site last summer. My daughter was spotting for me. "Dad, look out for that tree" "What tree?". "The one you just hit".....lol

We will be there starting Dec 26, 2019 through after new years as well. Already looking forward to it and it's more than a year out!

I just always make sure we have a premium site and haven't had an issue backing in. But we aren't that big anyway. It is definitely tighter than many of the campgrounds we stay in...but it is SO worth it.

You should have been there in the 70's before they cleaned out the foilage and trees. Used to be you couldn't even see the site next door. And yes it's still very "Magical".
