We always use a travel agent and he specializes in DISNEY and there is no additional cost. We just give him the dates and sit back and relax he does the rest.

Went there in 97 when the kids were big enough so I wouldn't have to worry about carrying them or pushing a stroller around. Plus they were able to enjoy more rides and attractions. Have a great time and say hi to Mickey.

We are working on scheduling our first trip to Disney for 2016 in the TT. I have a question for you experienced Ft Wilderness folks?? My wife and I will be taking the kids in our TT to the fort, but my parents want to tag along...They do not have an RV and would like to stay close to us as possible in Ft Wilderness. Does Disney rent any RV's or is it possible to have one delivered for them to stay in? I searched the forum, but couldn't find the answer to the question. Thanks in advance for all you help and wisdom!

There are several companies that rent units. Here is the link to the info on Fortfiends.

You may want to join up, lots of good Fort and Disney info available, no charge..

Another option (it may be in Ft.Fiends - I'm not familiar with that site, DW is though ) are the Disney Cabins at 'The Fort.' We stayed in one for Christmas 2013 along with son, DIL, and grandson.

Dan- There are also very nice cabins available for rental also. You could request a site near the cabin they will be staying in. Expensive but nice- https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/re...erness-resort/

Anyone have any experience with off property golf cart rentals? I know the policies changed which is why I am asking.

I am planning to go summer 2016. As a kid I stayed in the unit rentals before they converted them to log cabin look alikes. It was a great experience for me and I am looking forward to getting back on property.

I took the family through the grounds last trip and have a few loops picked out, but remember waiting for the internal bus connections after a long day at the park as the worst part!

The official answer is "not allowed". However a couple vendors have you borrow their trailer off property and bring it in and then return it. One vendor IIRC even allows you to use his truck. It is all being done as quietly as possible.

The bride and I visited this fall and loved it! We walked or used the bus, no bikes or cart. It worked but bike or cart would have been nice. We bought park-hopper passes and a meal plan. Also spent a day at Universal which was also excellent - not as good as the Mouse but still good.
The Mouse likes the color green, every time I turned around he had his hand in my pocket. But he knows how to show you a good time!

As I understand the off-site renters used to be allowed to deliver to the campsite but I guess the mouse got greedy and wants you to rent his.

Also many d--- a---- went to the front desk and complained when they had trouble with the outside vendors carts.

Our first trip to FW is this fall. I have wanted to stay there for 40+ years but we just got a camper last year. I have been researching the "outside gold cart rentals" and it just seems too unreliable now. Before Disneys crackdown, it might have been fine but now there are lots of stories of no show with your rental, call at the last minute and cancel, cancel and take a month to get your deposit back, etc. There are good stories as well but I'm just not willing to chance it. Just MHO
