Has anyone stayed at River Park Campground in Jonesborough, TN? We are planning a trip there soon and would appreciate any input on this campground or suggestions of where to stay.

we live in Jonesborough, haven't camped there but been there, right on the river full hookups, looks like a nice little campground just to close to home for us, Roan Mt. state park is about 30 miles from Jonesborough, that is our local campground of choice. its in the mountains so it is way cooler in the summer and in the spring the rhododendron garden on top of the mt is beautiful. if you ever plan to go there MAKE a reservation as it is extremely popular they have 30 and 50 amp hookup and water no sewer however the do have a dump station.

River Valley Campground, Cherokee, NC

Our favorite close campground is in Cherokee which is about 30 miles from Cashiers. Highlands is 8 miles west of us on Hwy 64. River Valley Campground is on the Cherokee Reservation about 5 miles from downtown Cherokee. It is right on the river and has great trout fishing with a 2 dollar tribal license required. They have full hook ups 30 and 50 Amp. You can hear the rapids from all the sites and Smoky
Mtns. park is nearby. It is a serene family oriented campground. The only negative is they only take cash, so you have to plan early enough to mail them 1 nights fee to hold your site or pay when you get there and hope they're not full. Phone 828-497-3540

Thanks for the info on Jonesboro area.
