Lake George, NY

HAs anyone been to King Phillips campground in Lake George? We went to the great Escape campground and it was ok but was further away from Six Flags. Anyone know about King Phillips, the website doesn't tell you much...

If you thought the Great Escape campground was just ok then King Phillips may not be for you either.

I always go to Lake George RV park and have never had a bad stay. Second from that is the new Moose Hillcock resort up the road about 4 miles. Both are south of Lake George in the outlet area of town. Crazy traffic down there so pick your timing, dates and add some extra as those lights backup in a hurry especially on the weekends.

Stayed in Lake George Great Escape as well. Nice CG but not so congenial. My wife and I would take a walk around in the evening..said 'HI' to about 10 different campers and not one reply back. Haven't been back since.

We just booked the last week in July at Lake George RV Park. Little pricey, but so much is included! Have been there since I was a kid. Going for in-laws 50th.

We went to Lake George for the first time last year in October. We haven't experienced it in the summer time yet. I am thinking we will be spending a lot of time at the park and not as much at the campground itself. I just want to make sure it is run well and clean

I've been camping in Lake George since 1981. First few trips were at Lake George RV Park.

After many years we wanted something different so we found Lake George Escape (when it was privately owned). We went to LGE for many years, but after it was sold to Encore RV Resorts it went downhill pretty fast. When LGE added a large number of tent sites, I felt that was the beginning of the end.

Call me a snob, but I've got a rig that cost me about $85k and when tent campers who go to Walmart and invest $25 in a tent show no respect for others, that's when we stopped going to LGE. The Walmart equipped campers would walk through your site, drop garbage, speed around the CG and have multiple families in their sites, sometimes over 20 people per site and all with competing boom boxes.

We decided to go back to Lake George RV Park where no tenters are allowed. We have two families we camp with, both went to Moose Hillock last year and raved about it. This year we are taking a 2 week RV trip to Nashville, so we will miss Lake George this year. Next year we may try Moose Hillock.
