Lake Texana Park, Edna, TX

We spent the weekend at one of our favorite parks. Texana Park & Campground is operated by the Lavaca Navidad River Authority (LNRA) and is located on hwy 111 between Edna , TX (5 mi) and Ganado (10 mi). This park was formerly operated by Texas Parks & Wildlife until it was turned over to LNRA a few years ago. The park has a little bit of everything from full-hookup sites down to water-only tent sites. You can camp right on the water or back in the Live Oak forest. There are hiking trails, a boat ramp, playgrounds, fishing piers and a boat ramp. And if none of that interests you, your admission to Texana gets you into Brackenridge Park across the highway where there are basketball courts, frisbee golf, mini golf, a fishing pond, and another boat ramp. Lake Texana is a shallow, muddy lake best known for cat fish and alligators.

The park is clean, the facilities are clean, the staff is VERY nice, the spaces are roomy, it's all around a great place to go. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a place to stay in this area.

It was HOT all of Friday, and most of Saturday. By Saturday afternoon, the weather kind of broke; there was a nice breeze coming off the lake, the humidity dropped a little, and it was actually tolerable to be outside as the afternoon gave way to the evening. Overall, very nice weather, albeit a bit hot. Did I mention it was hot?

Looks like a real nice park. We spend Wed-Sun at the Waller Jellystone and you did not have exclusive access to the HOT weather. Our G'son had a ball in the pools which was the point to the trip.
Your "roomy sites" description makes me jealous, they really pack 'em in at the J'stone.

How was the J'Stone? We have a little one on the way, so I find myself evaluating sites differently than I used to. Now a playground might be a desirable characteristic instead of a deal-breaker...

It's a great spot for kids. It wouldn't be a destination for just the bride and I, but them young 'uns make you see things differently.
The park itself is pretty large and has lots of the little cabins that seem to be showing up at so many CG's. The CG gets lots of weekend visitors which shows in the CG condition. The TT pads are mostly level but the areas between the TTs is somewhat uneven and don't drain too well. I think next time we visit we will avoid the week-end. The water, sewer and power were all good.
