In eastern Washington there are quite a few larger camping State parks. Here is the link to WA State Parks by Region - look at the North Central and South Central sections:
Parks By Region | Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission
In the North Central region we like Steamboat Rock and Sun Lakes-Dry Falls. In the South Central region we like Ginkgo Petrified Forest.
I see you are from Utah - we are planning to be through Southeastern Utah mid-September. Was through there a number of years ago on a car trip to take my youngest to university in Arizona - had a really good time and it's been on the list to get back to for a while now.
