Maine trip suggestions

I am planning a trip to Maine. Looking for suggestions

1) Where to stay. Looking at old orchard beach and bar harbor.
2) Things todo?

Thanks for any help.

I suspect it'll depend upon time of year and your interests. Winter time - inland. Summertime - lakes or coast.

The one thing my wife looks forward to is Lobster Rolls, so there you go. Eat up.
My son-in-law wanted to see LL Bean and the Bush compound (Kennebunkport?).

Acadia National Park is where I would head. There are several places to go (Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mountain, Somes Sound, etc.) from there, or if you'd prefer plenty of outdoor activities in the park itself

Sea Shore camp resort. Get a site up in the back. Walking distance to old orchard beach and downtown shops. Nice campground

Check out Shop 'n Save grocery stores. Many of them have live lobster and they can steam them for you at no additional charge. My last three trips to Maine I have had lobster orgies in the Shop 'n Save parking lots.

I was wrong about the name of campground in Maine . It is Paradise park. Got it mixed up with another CG in NJ. It was a nice place and close to beach

We had a great time last year at Smugglers Den in Bar Harbor! In fact we booked the same site for 2 week this year. It has a very nice playground, heated pool and a big field...thats about it! There is really not much for the bigger kids to do at the campground. But for us with 2 small kids it was great to come back to after doing something on the island.

My wife and I are the co-hosts of a podcast called RV Family Travel Atlas--we recently did an entire 60 minute podcast all about Acadia National Park--where to camp, eat, hike, swim, have fun etc... Lots of great information and recommendations. Take a listen!

http://rvfamilytravelatlas.com/2014/...venture-guide/

BTW--All of Coastal Maine is beautiful--but Acadia is out of this world beautiful.

Best--Jeremy
