Not The Way To Start The Season

I had made reservations fours months ago for East Lynn Lake around Huntington WV for Memorial Day weekend. About 3 weeks ago, a tornado went through the area and chewed up the electric lines. I got an email yesterday canceling my reservations due to no electricity. Bummer!

Every other park in the state has no reservations available for that weekend this late. So, I might try something I normal would not do. I am going to load up, and just drive until I find a nice park I know that has a first come opening. I just hope its not a futile waste of gas.

We have reservations made for the Foxfire KOA in Huntington. I'm meeting a group from another RV forum there. I just did a quick check using a 30' trailer w/ slides and according to their website they still have openings for both 30 & 50 amp pull through sites available for that weekend. If you decide to joins stop by. We will be on lot 4.

Esat Lynn, is our 'home campground' being only an hour away from us, we spend every weekend we can there. The damage up there was pretty bad, but they are supposed to open on June 1, maybe y'all can reserve then if time allows.
Also mountain lake campground at summersville is another option. http://www.mountainlakecampground.com/

Lol, not on the Wal-Mart.

I think I might see if I can either get a spot over at Beach Fork, or I might try Cedar Creek.

If I end up at Fox Fire, I will look you up.

They have ruined Battle Run at Summersville. I just about grew up there running around with mom and dad in their old Apache pop up. They have packed so many camping sites so close together, you can't put your awning out without almost hitting your neighbor.

I wasn't talking 'bout battle run, We go to the mountain lake campground.
Very nice place located back toward summersville, near the marina. Check out the link; http://www.mountainlakecampground.com/
