Pigeon Forge, TN Suggestions

We have a trip planned to Pigeon Forge in Sept and the week we are going River Plantation does not have any availability. Any recommendations on another campground in the area? Thanks.

We stayed at King's Holly Haven RV Park in 2016 when attending the 2016 SEAA World Series.

I see now they have a video of the RV park on their website, you can even see the softball diamonds in their video. Talk about being right on site.

Up The Creek RV park just outside Pigeon Forge. Great little park. Not congested.

We have been to pigeon forge many times and always stay at Claboughs family campground on wears valley rd. They have a nice pool a lazy river and now they also have a large jumping pillow for the kiddos.

We stayed at the KOA in Pigeon Forge last year. It was nice. Paid for one of the bigger sites to have some space. No complaints and would stay there again....

Where are you planning on spending most of your time, Pigeon Forge? GSM? Gatlinburg? Or a combination?

I would say a combo of Pigeon Forge and GSM. Last year we stayed at Smoky Bear. Love the campground but it was a 45 min drive into town every day to do something. Seemed a bit too far away for my taste.

This is why I asked. We avoided Pigeon Forge like the plague and I was going to suggest Smoky Bear. It worked good for us because it's only 20 minutes from Gatlinburg and the park entrance. It's definitely too far from PF if you want to spend a lot of time there.

Have fun on your trip!

We're going to give Pine Mountain RV Park a try over New Years, gets pretty good reviews and the location looks good if you want to be in the thick of things -

Well I guess my procrastination has finally paid off. I tried to book a few different campgrounds that were suggested and most were booked up already. I ended up booking Up the Creek for the week. Thanks

Up the Creek RV Park was a great choice. Close to all the attractions but far enough away that it was quiet. Shaded sites and friendly people. We will definitely go back.

Campgrounds

We stayed at the Douglas Dam Headwater Campground ( very similar to Army Corp of Engineers ) $25.00 or $18 with the senior pass and about 20 minutes from Pigeon Forge -

Pine mountain

We are fans of pine mountain. Very clean. No major complaints about plantation either, just a bit far away.

We stay at Riverside RV park just north of Sevierville. Convenient to get off the freeway. Very quiet and plenty of space. Just a few min to get to Pigeon Forge without having to deal with all the traffic if you don't want to.

Closer to Bass Pro Shops, Bud's Gun Shop and Smokey Mountain Knife Works. Also Lodge (cast iron stuff) factory outlet store.
