Provincetown RI area

We are going to be in Providence RI in late June, my wife is taking aaathree day class there. We're planning to make a camping trip out of it swinging up to Rangely Maine for a few days on the way back.
I'm looking for places to stay around Providence. I was thinking about the Cake Cod area but any suggestions would be welcome.
Well be coming from Illinois and going through the states on the way there and coming back through Canada. If you know of any can't miss places on that loop we'd be interested too.

Need some clarification on your location: Provincetown, MA or Providence, RI?

If Providence, it's at least an hour's drive to the Cape, and depending on where you're going, could be at least double that. Getting to the Cape on Thursday and Friday evenings during the summer is a nightmare due to traffic. That said, Bay View Campground in Bourne, MA is a campground we like, and it's about an hour from Providence.

If Provincetown, we haven't camped that far down the Cape yet, but there are several campgrounds in the general area. Some are pretty small and tight, so do your research carefully to be sure your rig will fit.

Can't help with Rangely, ME sorry.

While actually attending the class, probably the most convenient place is the KOA in Middleboro MA. Bayview Campground in Bourne is very nice and just over the Cape Cod Canal. We have stayed there nearly every summer for the last 5-6 years. But the commute to Providence will be an hour+ from Bayview and only a half hour from Middleboro.

If your going to go over the bridge and onto Cape Cod, I would suggest going another 40 miles east and checking out Atlantic Oaks campground in Eastham. It's located right near the cape cod national sea shore. Very spectacular!

Or stop by my seasonal campground, Shady knoll in Brewster!
Both Atlantic Oaks and Shady knoll are owned by the same family. Great folks! Both are awesome campgrounds!

Traffic can be a bit tough if on a Friday or Saturday, but it's not an issue the rest of the week.

Who knows, you may even see a great white sharks while at the national sea shore! From there it's a short drive to Provincetown, Wellfleet, Chatham,etc.. Lots of beautiful quaint cape cod towns nearby.

Shady Knoll Campground : Brewster, MA : Cape Cod Camping

Good call on Rangely ME.
You can't beat the view from "height of land" on Rt 17.
Best I've seen anywhere in New England!

PS. A climb up Aziscohos mountain will give you a better uncongested view of Rangely area.

Normandy Farms is a great place about half an hour from Providence RI resort CG always rated in the top 10 nation wide. Then head towards the Cape mid week less traffic.
