Route Help - Acadia Nat Park to Lake George, NY

Hi,
Traveling from Acadia to Lake George Thursday 6/29 and looking help with the route. Google suggests a couple routes.

1. 95/101/93/89/4/149 - suitable for a camper?
2. 95/495/290/90/87 - how much Boston traffic?

Leaving about 8am could adjust either way if it would make a significant difference.

Thank you.

I'm not sure about upstate Maine but you're all good on I 95, I93, I89, US4 and US9.

Safe travels!

The second route you list shouldn't be bad for traffic as 495/290 give Boston a pretty wide berth. Not sure how long a drive it is from Acadia to 90, but if you end up taking this route you want to give yourself plenty of time to be sure you're well onto 90 before mid afternoon as, from experience, 90 can back up for miles during the afternoon commute.

If you can get on 90 and get past the I-84 interchange before rush hour, you'll be fine.

This Thursday will be tough around Boston.. People on a holiday weekend don't wait for Friday.

Rush starts around 2 PM.. That is pushing it with your TT

You are actually fine going up 1A to Bangor and over to Newport exit 157 follow rt 2 to I 91 and south to Rt 4and 149.

Its a good route for a camper though I suspect the freeway alternative ( your first pick) is faster for a long drive.

I live in Western Maine and wont touch the second choice unless I have to. It takes you many extra miles.

Wondering how you are in Acadia and posting.. Not much Internet service there. We just spent five days offline.
