San Antonio, TX to Manchester, NH--Any Tips, Hints or Insights?

Good Day Everyone...
My wife, daughter and I will be making a trip from San Antonio, TX to Manchester, NH this summer. It will be approx an eight week round trip. If anyone has any tips, hints or insights as to areas to avoid, areas to take time to stop etc, it would be appreciated. We are looking at going up through AR, TN, KY, WV, PN, NY, CN, MA. We will be doing some overnight stops in Walmarts, and some at campgrounds.

I have never made that trip, but my brother has. I know they stop at graceland, hersey park and i know he said something about the tunnels in ny that they had to avoid because of the propane tanks. I will try and get you some more info and pass it along.

There is a LOT you can see on that trip.

Arkansas is beautiful.
Graceland in Memphis deserves a stop. If for nothing more than the cheesiness.
Great Smokey Mountains in TN.
Mammoth Cave, KY.
Washington DC is not on your list, but worth a stop. Stay at Cherry Hill.
Baltimore Inner Harbor has lots to see. Check out the Aquarium.
New York City is interesting. Stay at Liberty Harbor RV. The commuter ferry stop is next door and will drop you off on Wall St., so you don't have to drive into the city.
Acadia National Park, ME is fantastic.
The White Mountains, NH are beautiful. Take the trip and go to the summit of Mt. Washington.

We don't stay at Wal-Marts overnight with a trailer. It will be summer, and unless you have a generator, expect some hot nights sleeping. I don't think I could sleep, due to worry of trouble, overnight at a Wal-Mart. You should have no problems finding a campground with hook-ups on your route. Call ahead for Friday and Saturday night stays.

I would add
Gettyberg, PA - visited there this summer. They have a great driving tour with a CD that you buy at the visitor center. I am not a history buff, but this was the highlight of our trip

Omish country in PA too. Very cool and beautiful.

Ohio Plye SP, PA - very beautiful area.

Hocking Hills SP, Oh - about 7 SP's in a 10 mile radius. Easy, beautiful hiking to waterfalls and nice rock formations.

Never been to Vermont, but seen lots of friends pictures. Breath taking
