Great pictures. Looks like you had a good time. I love Lanier, we live not too far from there. We are in the process of getting a camper and that will probably be the first place we go.

We're still here [emoji6]
9 day mini vacation where we can just go to and from work from the campsite. We only live 10min away.
Get site number 78! By far the best one here

Great time to be there with the summer rush over and the waters still warm!

We spent a week at Blue Ridge CG few summers ago at Lanier Islands and enjoyed every minute. The lake and natural surroundings are beautiful, I just wish the the power in charge of the property would spent some of that resort money to bring the CG up to the level of the COE parks surrounding the lake. Would not mind paying a few extra dollars for a level site and a clean restroom.

Thank you for sharing these beautiful photos. I am putting Shady Grove on our list. I think we should start a tread "View From Your Jayco Door." GregJames and Saintsfan please post one of yours there!

Used to visit Lake Lanier every weekend from April to October, and even a few in the winter. Parents had a houseboat there. Rarely visited campgrounds, as the boat was our quarters. Very few places developed lakeside back then. We did visit the Lockheed Boat Club a fair amount, though. Just beached the houseboat, and voila! Our own campground.

They actually shut that down and now it's owned by one single family. Amazing spot....

Well, as kids, we sure had fun there. But then, we had fun all over that lake. Used to pull into the small/medium sized coves and go find the rope swings, swim and fish all day, then swim back to the boat. Also beached a lot at a peninsula near the Buford Dam, probably not far from you. Spent a LOT of weekends there, with friends who had a travel trailer and a small boat. GOt a kick out of Charlie Brown, former VP of Lockheed. He was a real fisherman, and quite a guy. My dad was just an engineer on the C5A project, but Charlie didn't quite know how important it was to be a VP, LOL!
