Gulf Shores has a beautiful state park (Gulf State Park | Alapark). Reservations are highly recommended though.

Just returned from a stay at Gulf State Park.....had reservations for 3 nights.....all 496 camp sites were filled.....many of those were filled with snowbirds who they say will be leaving out April 1 but it still stays full during the busy season down there.....btw, it's a great place to stay for $36 per night.

Late next month we've accepted a FREE (forced sales solicitation required) 4 night stay at Styx River in Robertsdale, AL. Just off I-10, it's less than an hour (north of) to Gulf Shores and about 90 min east of Biloxi.

We've got many friends that live nearby (Robertsdale, Summerdale, Foley and Mobile) is our true reason for this stay.

The online reviews don't sound like its ultra classy, but hey! Its free.

Four nights "free". Would you like the contact phone number to listen about a great opportunity to own a time share?
