Texas State Park Alerts

Anyone with plans to stay at Texas State Parks should be aware of many that are affected by the flooding.

DW and I were watching some videos on YouTube about Palmetto, Brazos Bend, and others being closed due to the floods. Way too much water!

I can remember my days living in North Texas when the Brazos River was flooded and would actually cut the state in half. Texas is a big state so that is hard to imagine but happened.. There was very few places you could safely cross the Brazos back then in the 60s... Especially the western part of the state.

Hey Roy... wish us luck. It hasn't rained for the past 20 hours or so. I guess it's a mixed blessing where without a rig at the moment... otherwise, we wouldn't be able to visit our usual haunts to camp!

Roy, hey I'm new to the scene where are your favorite spots to go? I'm also in Houston. We have been to a RV place at surfside (breeze rv) and a few others. prefer wooded state park or beach sites. Thanks.

We had to cancel a trip to Lake Somerville a few weeks back. It was at a COE park, and they didn't have any alerts, but the State Park up the lake was flooded, so we decided to play it safe and cancel. Good thing we did, the State Park was WAY under water a couple days ago.

The outlaws are looking to go to Guadalupe River SP end of this week, but their web site says they're closed with no re-open date.

Thanks for the info! I'm glad for the rain because of the severe drought, but it would have been nice to have it spread out a little! And in case you guys haven't noticed, the mosquitoes are out with a vengeance!! I had one present me a flight plan before landing on my arm the other day!
