Stone Mountain GA, Halloween 2016

We camped at Stone Mountain Park this past weekend.
It was the Pumpkin Festival and Halloween weekend so we decorated our site.
We even had trick or treaters!!

This was the view off the back of the campsite to the left.

This was the view to the right when you walked down to the water.

Which Stone Mountain? Ga or NC. Both are nice.

This lovely lady munched her way through our campsite on the Laramie River in CO.

(I confess that it was a month before we bought our Jay Feather.... we were still in our Forest River popup)

From Cheyenne Mountain State Park, Colorado Springs, CO, first week of November 2016.

I meant to post this up a long time ago, but forgot until today!

We had such a fantastic time, it was unbelievable how much fun we had! And the sights? I can still see them sometimes when I close my eyes.

Just a few feet from my door is some of the best Salmon fishing on the Rogue River. I only take 1 and the next one will be down the road maybe 100 miles or so just around the bend and maybe crab this time.

Evergreen Air and Space Musuem -Oregon

Out in the middle of nowhere. McMinville, Oregon. Home of the Spruce Goose.

You can boondock in the parking lot. Great musuem and a waterpark for the kids too.

I used to live in your neck of the woods. I had the opportunity once to fish the Rogue and didn't and I regret it. But did have lots of fun on the Cowlitz down south and the Skagit up north.

We stayed at the Atlatl rock C.G. I had the one right next to the big rock on the eastern side of the grounds. There is another CS right on the other side (west) of the rock called Arch rock C.G
Enjoy

Chrisbn: Both campgrounds in Valley of Fire are first-come first-serve. We were down there for a week in early April last year and both were full the whole time. There are some other options within reasonable distance that you can look at. The National Park Service has the Echo Bay Campground which is about a 20 minute drive from Valley of Fire on the north shore of Lake Mead. It is also first-come first serve. If you want to see about a guaranteed reservation then check out Lake Mead RV Village's Echo Bay location. It's right by the NPS camprounds. That's were we stayed for the week. There is a small camp store at the Echo Bay location as well as a Sinclair gas station - as I recall they only have mid-grade gas, no diesel.
