I camped at Fairy Stone SP a few years ago, only not with my TT. Spent a couple of weeks camping around the Smokey Mountains and FS was a nice place to camp (the tent pad worked out great when it rained):

Bob - I love all the rain tent ideas back in my tent camping days. The Smokys Mtn sites always had many different "tent cities" laid out back in those days... First thing we did was hang up a big 30x30 tarp over the tent camp sites they go from that.

I still do that with my POPUP. I use a 20x30 foot tarp over the POPUP trailer and down at an angle on the back side and out over the awning on the front side. Then all is tied off using my earth augars screwed into the ground on both sides. My top has cut outs for my side mounted radio comm antennas, fantastic fan, and air conditioner.

Works great for us to have the added shade it offers. Keeps the fabric tent bed ends like new too...

Even now you see alot of this with the tent campers at ELKMONT... ELKMONT has almost 100% tree cover in the camp ground and when it rains there the trees will drip for several days after the rain. Its like a rain forest in there sometimes.
