Watkins Glen NASCAR event

I want to go to this event this year, has anyone been? Is one camping area better than others. I want to camp at the track.

Absolutely share your experience camping at a Nascar event! I keep trying to get to Talladega and camp but the dates have not worked out with the kids/etc.

The State Park is nice. The KOA is just alright. Haven't been to the track campsite but I would bet that fills up quick.

I like the state park at Watkins Glen. I have not camped at the track, but I have driven 9 laps on the track, 3 of them towing my trailer (99 Coleman Nevada).

I have gone to this event and have stayed at the KOA, state park, and ferenbaugh Ferenbaugh is towards Corning and is a bit further away, but very doable.

I do know that there is a minimum number of days you must stay at both the KOA and Ferenbaugh.

turn2racing--We camped at the track the year nascar returned to the glenn. It was pretty rowdy & crowded.We were 2 familys with popups camping along side the track, lots of fun. I might also mention we each had 8 yr old boys that road thier bicycles all around the track infield roads, following a jeep with a young lady showing her ---, opon the request of the fans as she rode by. The 2 kids( now 35) still deny seeing "anything" to this day, but the grins on thier faces gave them away. After the track closed on Sat.& Sunday anyone, with a bike, was allowed on the track . Larry
