Where in New England should we go???

My Wife and I are heading down to the New England Area end of this month from Nova Scotia, planning on Two Weeks (our first real road trip with our trailer). The first 7 nights are planned out, 2 nights in Old Orchard Beach, 4-5 nights in the Boston area. We want to spend a couple nights in the North Conway area on the way home.

We're not sure of where else we should go?? It's just my Wife and I, and we have enough shopping planned ;-( No Kids, so we don't need lots of Kid attractions. Not really looking for Outdoor experiences, we have enough of that here in Nova Scotia ;-)

Looking for interesting places to visit. Lot's of History is good. Some of the places we've thought about -

Amish area in PA, Gettysburg PA, Niagara Falls. Issue with those is they add about 14+hrs extra driving, which i'm not sure i want to do in a two week period. Thought about visiting Delaware Gap/Pocono Raceway, tad less driving.

We've thought about heading into Conneticut, and maybe do a day trip into NYC. Also giving some thought about going up to the Lake George NY area, then through Vermont on way to North Conway NH. This is the least amount of driving of most of our choices.

Would appreciate any thougts/opinions on this trip. Thanks in advance!

Are you a "Railfan"? I've always wanted to ride the Mount Washington Cog Railway in New Hampshire.

I'd have to say cape cod is a must see. There are a million things to do. Vineyards, restaurants, beaches, museums, whale watching, and of course shopping. It is the quintessential New England experience. Go see a cape cod league baseball game and then a seafood dinner! You won't be disappointed.

X2

We live about 30 miles from the Cape and head down there all the time. IMO the best way to get to the Vineyard is the ferry from Woods Hole

I spent a week up around the Mt.Washington area 2 yrs ago and there is a ton of things to do. I will say the cog train is a must do.We also took a ride on the Conway scenic railway which was also nice.
