Will be almost dead center of the path of totality at Dreher Island State Park in South Carolina Saturday-Tuesday. When I made the reservations last September we snagged the next-to-last RV site available. Have appropriate glasses for the eclipse and adult beverages.

Best I can tell, our driveway just happens to be the perfect vantage point for viewing!

I saw the last one in 79. Wasn't impressed
Since it will be from 1-4 here in Atlanta I'll probably be at the office so I'll probably walk out to the parking lot and go "Yup, it's dark. Okay everyone back to work!".

You might as well just stay inside because Atlanta is not in the path of totality.

I'll be watching from my home in Seattle.... 91% here. I remember building a pin-hole box in school to watch the one in '79.

I saw the last one in the late 70's with my dad in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in CA. We belonged to an astronomy club that built a huge 'father / son' event around it. That was forever ago and one of my better memories with my dad.

I'd love it if my daughter had the same camping experience (complete with telescopes, and astronomers), but we're staying home for this one. We're just south of the ideal track, so we will still see it, just won't be as good if we were in Wyoming.

There are also going to be live streams of it, but obviously that's really not the same... Have fun, those of you that are heading out for this.

We're mid 90s here and have heard there's precious little chance of making any headway north. So I think we'll just walk outside the office and see if at 95ish% totality

Also going to Hiawassee, tried to get a sight in Rabin county months ago and nothing available (made a post about finding a spot in north Georgia at the time). Looking forward to seeing it and also getting away for four nights of R&R. Loved the post about the moon pies etc. Any Pink Floyd fans going? Last song on "Dark Side of the Moon" is called "Eclipse" and the last line of that song is " And the Sun is eclipsed by the Moon" I'll have to play it but won't be syncing it with " The Wizard of Oz".

Loved that album. I think I wore a couple 8 tracks out and more than one album :-)

I'll be playing Dark side for sure.

Kansas City is in the path of the eclipse but we won't get to see 100% of it. The school district my kids are in bought thousands of pair of glasses for the kids and planned to have the teachers take them out to view the eclipse but after parents complained about safety, the district cancelled school for Monday. Dog and cats living together. Mass hysteria.

We live in the direct path of 100% and have grandchildren arriving Friday to watch with us. We have lots of glasses on hand for our guests and can't wait to see it. My dad saw the 1918 total eclipse and talked about it his whole life, it must have been something to experience!!! We love living in the mountains and expect to have a front row seat here in Cashiers, NC.

We reserved our spot at River Bend in early spring. Only reason we got a spot.

Were at River Bend also. Grey 2001 Tundra and Jayflight FBS. River Bend is a great place, we've stayed at Bald Mountain also and it's a nice spot.
