Wichita Mountains NWR

This great photo of bison in the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge was posted somewhere on Facebook; I don't know who the photographer is so I can't give credit. We have encountered a herd of bison on a hike there and gave the couple of dozen animals as much room and time as they needed to cross our trail. The bulls watched us carefully and somewhat malignantly, but did not make any threat gestures. I'm not sure that even being in a vehicle could protect you from one of these animals who was being cranky.

There's lots of advice and information in forums... sometimes it is correct. For example, all of my posts are made by a political appointee who got the job as a reward for contributions to my diesel bill.
