Has anyone visited YNP in Jan Feb? I have camped at Yellowstone in summer but would like to visit in winter, maybe we would stay at old faithfull snow lodge. I am looking for comments and advise.

That sounds like a great idea ! As a kid, many years ago (back when dirt was new), my folks took me on a vacation that included YNP. As I recall, it was very cold, but don't remember snow being on the ground. I'll bet OF really looks great in snow on a sunny day - probably need sunglasses to reduce the brilliant white. If you do this, how about posting some pics when you can ? Would love to see them.

My wife and me and about six of our friends went there back in Jan of 97 to go skiing at Jackson hole. We booked a snow mobile trip for a day in yellow stone, we had more fun that day then I think we did the entire week we spent skiing. Being from Texas we don't get to see snow that often, we see ice so while in Y.S. to be able to walk out onto a frozen lake and be up to your chest in 5' of snow was a trip. We spent all day driving snow mobiles through Y.S. with a tour guide and there was about 20 people in the group. I have two boys now and that is the one thing my wife and me have always talked about was taking them there in the winter. I would also like to see it in the summer, but winter was a blast. I'm not for sure what months they close the roads to cars but when we were there the only vehicles aloud in were snow mobiles....
