Generator pairing question

When pairing generators do they have to be of equal wattage or for example could you pair an eu1000i with an eu2000i and would the result be 3000 watts of available power

Thank you Jim, your link certainly answered the question clearly...I searched a lot of info yesterday and wasn't able to find the answer.

(Please note: you can only parallel two identical units together.)

This is the key statement. They have to be identical.

Technically, you can pair any two gensets of identical voltage.

Yes, you add the amps together and multiply by the voltage to get the total power available.

I've done the research on how its done. VERY MESSY!

Unless you REALLY KNOW what you are doing, stick with the parallel cables sold by the manufacturer and pair only similar gensets.
