Campground Host

Look at the job with caring. We arrived at a State Park and had a campground host telling us what they allowed and what they did not. We have a great dog and I could tell she was not a dog lover. We have camped for years and was offended by that approach. We were aware of State Park rules and as long as rules were followed her job was to make customer service a lot more friendly. I later found out she was known for saving spots for friends. Had a talk with one of the rangers and found out this had happened before. We stayed in the campground and had a good time anyway. The host did not return the following year.

We always make it a point to make friends with the cg host. Never had a bad experience with one and I don't see how anyone who is not a people person would last long in that position.

I have run into a couple of bad hosts over the years, they never seem to last real long. On the flip side, there is a park that isn't too far from my house that has had that same host the last 3 years I've been there. He remembers me every time, he even puts out a water dish for the dogs that are in the park!

We have also had great experiences with CG hosts. Every one has been courteous, helpful, and friendly. Guess there are a few bad apples in every barrel, though. Had extended conversations with the last one we made friends with in Hungry Mother SP, VA, in 2012, and they interested us in becoming hosts after we retire.
