My First Host Position is Now Complete

I left the park this morning after a 4 month tour. All went well and I signed up go to back next year.

Now I intend to do nothing for a week or so and hope the weather cools off. I am back at my home base, all hooked up and the a/c is on.

Happy for you. That is something I want to do. We are heading to Boone, NC for a week tomorrow, looking for some cooler temps.

It was my first host position and it was fun. The park manager really appreciated all of the volunteers that were there so he was always very nice to us. Assignments did change at times. A new schedule would come out on the first of the month and then someone would have to leave suddenly so out comes a revised schedule. You just go with the flow and it is fun. All of the volunteers I worked with were great and we all had a lot of fun.

I also hope to do this one day. You picked a great part of Florida to do your volunteer work. I bet for a while you want know what to do with yourself. There's always other places in other parts of the country to volunteer for.

Glad your first experience at hosting turned out good Ed, also good to see you signed up for next season, hope that goes even better for you. The wife and I volunteer as campground hosts in the Shenandoah National Park and love it. We may change campgrounds so we can get to enjoy other campgrounds in the park.

All the best....
