2017 RAM 3500 for sale-- One Day Old

In Good Hope, Georgia...
I purchased a brand new Dodge 3500 Tradesman loaded with all the options. Driving it home I realized it has no shoulder harness in the front jumpseat, where I need to put one of my four kiddos. I screwed myself big time, by not realizing this until it was purchased. I bought it for a great price from a fleet dealer. I'm offering it for $38,000, which is $5k less than Purchased. It is TWO days old and has about 70 miles on it. Single owner with all the mx records :-). It is gas. I decided that for an HT, I wanted the payload capacity of a one-ton, but didn't need a diesel. It was a perfect choice for that.

If interested, please let me know soon as otherwise I'm trading it (to get screwed even more)in to get a Ford, which HAS the center shoulder harness.

3500 Tradesman, CC, 4x4, 6'4" bed
6.4L gasser
granite crystal mettalic with black grill, looks sharp
Work grade vinyl seats,
ParkView Rear Backup Camera with 5" UConnect Display
Black Tubular Sidesteps
Popular Equipment Group, LED Bed Lighting
4.10 Axle
5th Wheel Prep
Trailer Brake Control

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this, I LOVE the truck but can't put a 6 year old in the center seat without a shoulder strap, just won't do it. I'm very upset over this but trying to (breathe...) keep it in perspective. I special ordered this to get EXACTLY what I want to pull a 30.5MBOK, and it was delivered Jun 30th, which is yesterday.

Wire, I kinda feel your pain. Bought a new TT in November only to trade it in June on another (larger) RV ... So, I took a beating also.

On your issue ... is there not any aftermarket stuff, that you can install, that will satisfy your requirement ? Maybe taking it to a body shop for some sort of retro fit.

Unfortunately no. I've Googled and talked to two dealers and a truck mod specialist. There is no anchor point for a shoulder harness, and the liability issues also prevent anyone from being creative. I also considered a big-kid car seat, but the space is tight and I'm pretty sure even the car seat would just tip forward.

I'm quite bummed, as I love the truck and I'm really taking it in the shorts. I won't even say what the dealership offered for a trade in.

I'm actually shocked that they wouldn't work with you on a return. I know that they aren't required to, but for the sake of good business, you would think they would have some provision for this situation.

By the way, good luck with your sale.

Seems like you could install a 4 point seat belt yourself.
I would bring a center nylon webbing from floor up over seat back for the top connector.
Drilling another hole in floor board with some fender washers.

Just a thought.

I've checked. There is no anchor point, and the seat doesn't lock upright, it just pushes forward.

Too bad it worked out this way, it's a very easy thing to miss given how complicated buying a new truck is.

I hope things work out for you...you are doing right by your children!

By law they only need the lapbelt. My 2007 dakota only has a lapbelt too. Luckily I don't have to use it often.

Does any of the big truck manufacturers have a lapbelt for the center jump seat?

Check the harness at ezonpro.com and see if it will work.

All Recent Fords (and some GMCs) have a harness for the center seat.

It's lawful, but I don't feel comfortable using the seat for anybody.

I will look at the harness, but since the seat itself folds toward and doesn't lock, I don't think there's any way to anchor it

I don't think they make a truck with a shoulder harness combination in this country. Besides you have a crew cab??. Place your grandchild in the back seat. As a matter of fact they make no car in America with a center shoulder strap seatbelt.

I'm afraid you are quite wrong. I now own a Ford F-350 with a factory center jumpseat shoulder harness. Problem solved.

Ford's center jump seats have a shoulder harness.

The dealer I bought my Chrysler 200 gives a 3 days no questions asked return policy. I took them up on it on day 2 when I got a check engine light (evap leak) and swapped for another equally equipped car from a sister dealership they had. To bad all dealers don't offer this.
