1999 jayco eagle qwest trailer lighting

I just changed the rear tail light assemly cause the plastic license plate bracket broke. I hooked it all up correctly and i am getting a very faint signal. All of the other lights work(brakes and running). I thought it might have been the ground so i double grounded it and i still can barely see it. What could be the problem? I put in a new light bulb also. Please help. Leaving to go camping soon. Thanks for rhe help
