1st Trip in the Camper

It wasn't really a "trip" since it was 10min from the house... But it was a blast regardless!

Our first trip was only 15 minutes from our house too but your energy level is WAY high than mine! Looks like you had a blast. I did as well but was a lot more sedentary!!!

We have another one booked in 2 weeks on the lake again. This one will be right on the water though.
Being able to bring the boat over from the marina makes it really nice and easy

But I didn't see your Pirate costumes.

It was a sad run this year. One of the boats caught too much air which caused it to flip over backwards at 100+mph killing all 4 on board.
We had DNR and divers off our beach all weekend recovering their bodies

Sad about the accident no doubt, being on the lake Poker Run weekend is not for the faint of heart. We will be in site 83 for 4 nights starting August, 3. House to storage to campground, like for you, is maybe a total of 10 miles, and it's also where we made our "maiden voyage". It is definatly a privilege to have that nice a place so close. We do trips were we go to work from the campground just to get out the camper and enjoy the change of pace. Edit: Love the Tool t-shirt!

That's the plan with us also. I work for the sheriff's office here, so I've gotta persuade the gate keepers to let me out if I get a SWAT call.
The only thing I dislike is being locked in at night..

Thanks for helping to keep us safe and for God's sake be careful, it's almost total anarchy out there now.

Thank you. Yeah it's nuts right now... Luckily we live a good community that supports us for the most part.

Greg,
You would think that they would be happy enough to have an officer in the campground (even if off duty) that they would give you a key.

I also would like to say thanks for choosing police work - especially in this difficult time in our nation. You are appreciated.

I live in Decatur and camp around Georgia all the time so perhaps we'll run into each other some day. I don't camp on the lake much because we own property on the lake up near Gainesville and are about to retire there.

Thank you, and I'm jealous lol.
My goal is to one day live on the lake.. I foresee a few more years of contract work in Iraq before that happens though!
