Usually if you call Jayco with your VIN, they can tell you exactly what is on that unit. It wouldn't be a schwintek as they didn't come out till later on. More than likely though, you can still get the parts. A 2003 is not that old really.

Being a 2003, I don't think it was on a Lippert frame either. Can't remember, but I think they were using Leland chassis back then. The Leland frame I had in 2003 (different brand) was using barker slide mechanisms. Not sure what Jayco was using.

2003 Jayco 324G slide out worm gear problem

If you take the assembly to a Dealer or Id the manafactorer, there should be a number on it. I have seen people replace the stripped gear or even the gear box.

My guess is it is Barker Mfg.

Thanks, will check first thing Monday when they open back up

left the unit there. I know Jayco quit using that system, my guess because it failed a lot...

I liked my barker better really. Leland usually had the barker slide, at least on all the ones I had they did, they got bought out, in the end Jayco ended up with Lippert, which of course uses Lippert slide mechanisms. Don't think it was due to failures really.

Either way, I hope you can get it resolved. Should be a simple fix really.
