So which one on the list was your favorite place to stay? (other than Fort Wilderness, of course ;-)

Other than Fort Wilderness

Top of the list is Buck Horn Resort - Kerrville TX

Bottom of the list is KOA - Mt Pleasant SC, ok park but we had problems with flies and ants the whole time we were there

Rob,

That's a nice list. You must be a KOA member.
How did you like you 2 stays in La.? Eat any good food there?

Great first year. So how is the Pinnacle holding up after 365 days of constant use? Some Rv`s will not be used that much in their entire lifetime.

Chipper, only overnighted in LA on the way to and from TX. Got in late in the afternoon, left early in the morning, did not eat out.
Only issue with LA was the smooth I-10 broke the hinges on our Kitchen Cabnet Barrel Door. Had to go to Home Depot in LA and get new hinges and stronger latch.
Yes we are a KOA member, we frequently stay at KOA in Milton FL due to it is the nicest park close to my niece's home and we work in the area from time to time.
Some KOA's are quite nice, some are a dump.
Company covers cost when working on road, we get KOA points for free nights when I am covering the cost.

Crabman, our Pinnacle is holding up great, solid unit, soild construction, good value for the buck, we still like it.
Our Pinnacle is doing good with the cold weather here in Tennessee this week.
I think the most wear and tear does not come from the fulltime living in our Pinnacle but the roads we travel over, the Pinnacle takes quite a beating from the road when we traveling.

Thanks for your info, Rob! Glad to hear that you, too, are satisfied with your Pinnacle. I'm guess-timating that we put about 7500 miles on our Pinnacle during the past year. We had a couple of minor issues (slide gasket and replacement of the anti-siphon trap vent for kitchen sink) that the dealer rectified as warranty work. Sadly, it is now winterized and under about 10 inches of snow.

2013 is our year to head to Alaska barring any unforeseen complications. That trip will definitely test the integrity of our Pinnacle.

A trip to Alaska is on our Bucket List, most likely still a few years off.

Look forward to your posts and updates when you go to Alaska.

We are going to Ft. Wilderness in March while the kids are on their spring break.

While the DW and I have a Jayco X23B, we rented one of Disneys' Wilderness Homes. The son-in-law will be towing his 31 foot camper down there. Ahhhh..... youth!!!!

Rob, I was told last year, in a very nice way I might say, that us fulltimers' camping days/year don't count. I also have 365 days camping in 2012, or I will after tonight anyway.

Happy New Year to all.

Ed, I think it just depends on who you talk to. I wish I could fulltime, and if I did I would count every day. Happy New Year to you as well.

I agree Ed, everytime I pull in, the sign says XXXXX CampGround on it, so as far as I am concerned I am CAMPING !!!

If we look around at the State Parks, Campgrounds and RV Parks we stay at, everybody else is Camping, so why are we not camping?

We like you Ed are just are lucky that we get to "Camp" 365 Days a year !!!!

We have Milepost 2010 and got MP 2012 (in the mail) and MP 2013 (March release) for Christmas from our kids, and also have "The Travelers Guide to Camping in Alaska". As members of AAA we also have their resources to use, too. We are putting together our to-do lists, looking at routing, getting passport cards, etc. Planning this trip is a good way to pass the winter.

Oops...sorry to the OP for this hijack! Wait... that was you, Rob_Fla!
