2014 Jayflight 19RD

I have a 2014 Jayflight 19RD. I need to know what kind of batteries it came equipped with (agm, gel, flooded etc.).

Can anybody help?

Thanks,
Ralph

My 19 RD has 1 standard (flooded) Interstate deep cycle. Not sure what group size it is.

It probably has a single Interstate flooded Group 24 battery. I think they are rated for around 60-75 amp hours, or somewhere in that region.

Owner's manual for my 19RD states Group 27 to be the design size. However 2 Group 27's will not fit the battery tray on the tongue. If you mostly use hookups I am sure a group 24 would be fine and you can probably fit 2 of them in the tray if you need extra capacity for dry camping.

Just bought a 19RD last month. Haven't opened the battery case yet.

It held for 24 hours of boondocking without problems. Ran the genset 2+ hours each day to keep the battery topped up.

Once the OEM battery craps out, there will be 2 golf cart batteries on the tongue and leave the genset home!

I think this issue was brought to light a couple years ago by another member - most of the time the dealerships are installing Group 24 batteries while in fact the manual might state a Group 27 should be in there. If this is the case you could, in theory, get the dealership to upgrade it for you.
