2014 MOD List - Whats your plan? Puke it out.....
I thought I moved to temperate climate to finish out my years....but just my luck, the earth's axis has shifted and my house is somewhere near magnetic North now....
DAYS OF SNOW SHOVELING 2014 = 10
Boxes of new gear are starting to pile-up in my garage which means that by March 1st, the TT is coming back to camp driveway. Here's my mod list ....
- Install Progressive Dynamics Power Monitoring System....
- Install Weather Station.....
- Install Swagman Bike / Gear Platform....
- Finish Installing Video Monitoring System.....
- Install an easy-access door for storage under the dinette...
- Raise the TT 1-2".....
What's on you project list for 2014?....(talking it out is better than watching snow melt).....

For me the biggest mod will be done by Jayco - turning a bunch of parts into a fully functioning TT sometime in April. Once we do finally get it home the list will include:
- Installing handle/bar on screen door
- Installing Maxx air vent
- Possibly replacing the ventilation fan in the bathroom with something better (need to do some more research, but I think the Fantastic fan is the one recommended by most forum members)
I'm sure there will be more as we figure out what we're doing, settle in and begin making the trailer ours

Good Mod...one I tackled the first season, too. We have a small economy camper (which had NO fan) so I went with a (decent) 5-speed Vortex Fan. If I had your rig....I'd go for the Fantastic Fan and Maxx Air Vent.......
Good Luck!

So tired of shoveling... I'm am interested in hearing about your video monitoring system. I have a 12v wifi system in my trailer and would like to use that to add a camera on the back of my trailer to be able to view on my iPhone when backing up. Also wouldn't be a bad idea to view when I'm away from the camper.

I have (2) 2.4GHz 12V cameras. Being standard video format, the receiver antenna has an RCA plug which goes directly into our portable DVD Player or HDTV.....catch is - the wireless distance is rather short and you need 12V supply for the receiver.
What your interested in (as I understand it) is wireless IP Cameras with memory which can upload to / be addressed through the cloud by a PC program or phone app. I'm not there yet...that technology isn't cheap yet - whereas, I have always been cheap...

For starters, I'm trying new shackles. If I'm not happy with the result I'm off to suspension shop!

-Replace interior lighting with LED's
-Screen door push bar/handle
-stove top cover
-continue reorganizing pass thru
-vent screens
-some sort of outdoor shower privacy (still going over in my head)
-new tires for TT and TV
-sewer hose ramp
I'll prolly come up with others, but I have those planned for now.

I would say I am just about done with my modifications (at least for now). I do want to study the parasite battery drains and add a power kill switch to the radio, for when we are boondocking.

I was able to raise my old Komfort trailer 2-1/2 inches by flipping the axles with a spring over axle conversion kit similar to this one.
<http://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Dexter/K71-385-00.html>
although I was able to reuse the old u-bolts and tie plates. I did it in my driveway with 3 hydraulic jacks, a can of wd40, and a bit of elbow grease. Just do one side at a time.

Thanks, Tim....Axel flip is an option. Jayco uses it on many of the "Baja" Series Swifts.... on my axel it nets @ 4.5" of lift (which I feel is a little too much). About 2 inches of lift would make enough difference for me to improve septic performance and knock out some rear skid dragging.

Installing as many LED lights as possible!
Installing 'Smart Tile' backsplash in kitchen and bathroom.
Give it a good, scrubbing bath.
Get DH to check all the seals/roof, etc...
Those are all priorities on my list. Our first outing is first weekend in March.
