2015 Seneca Towing

I am a new owner and would like suggestions on towing a Ford Edge. I know the Edge can be flat towed. I am interested in setups folks have and likes/dislikes. Thanks in advance for your advice!

Although I have a Greyhawk 31DS not a Seneca, I tow a 2012 Ford Edge. I use a Blue Ox setup (baseplate and Aventa II towbar), light kit, and RViBrake2 for braking. Installation of the baseplate, wiring, and breakaway switch for the brake cast me about $1100 parts and labor. This price includes a 10" rise adapter for the towbar, as the Ford Edge has the connection points for the towbar at 26" above the ground, the highest of any vehicle my hitch guy has seen.
The towbar was about $700 several years ago, and the brake system was about $1100. All of them work very well as far as I am concerned, and I have towed for many thousands of miles.

I have a 2014 Seneca and I have two vehicles set up to tow. When the grandkids or others will accompany us I have a 2014 Ford Explorer Sport we tow, somewhat larger (but similar) to your Edge. We also have a 2013 Ford Focus ST we can take when it is just the DW and I. With either vehicle we literally don't know they are back there behind the Seneca. Thank goodness we have a camera so we can make sure periodically! We had a Chateau E-450-based Class C before and towing just the Focus was very obvious from a performance standpoint.

We have a Roadmaster Falcon All-Terrain towbar to connect them to the Seneca and Roadmaster Even Brake for vehicle braking. Never had any issues with either, had them both longer than the two vehicles we can tow. I installed both tow brackets and all required wiring myself, but it is quite a job and I would recommend professional installation unless you are very confident in your abilities. Too much at stake to not do everything correctly.

I also have a Tire Minder tire pressure monitoring system and sensors for all motorhome tires AND whatever vehicle we are towing. I think especially with the Seneca you would have no idea you have a toad flat until someone races up beside you to tell you your car's tire is on fire! I consider such a system a necessity today and the one I have works very well.
